Abstract

Pedestrian path is one of the important road infrastructure for the community. At present the development of transportation is more oriented towards motorized transportation systems, so that space for pedestrians is decreasing or disappearing. The research location, which is located on Jalan Soekarno Hatta, is quite dense with land use dominated by economic activities, namely trade and services, as well as campuses and hospitals. The purpose of this study is to provide recommendations for pedestrian paths on Soekarno Hatta Street, Malang City. The analytical method used is an analysis of the operational performance of pedestrians by using the characteristics of pedestrian paths and the service level of pedestrian paths, as well as service performance using the Important Performance Analysis (IPA) method. The results of the operational performance analysis are that it requires a difference in the height of the pedestrian path of at least 2 meters from the ground surface, controlling activities/activities in the pedestrian space, and requiring a barrier using a pedestrian lane bollard barrier. While the results of service performance include improving traffic signs and changing the location of traffic signs, adding trash bins and repairing trash bins, adding guiding blocks, improving crossing conditions, adding crossing lanes, and improving the location of crossing conditions, curbing sidewalks from street vendors.
